The first of the month-long series of events is our official launch in Room 11, Rochester Adult Education Centre, Eastgate, on Saturday, 1st March 2025.
We have inspiring speeches and a performance from the Brompton and Invicta Military Wives Choir, with a chance to meet the team behind Medway Women’s History Month, and find out more about the programme ahead.
Spaces are free and we’d be grateful if you could reserve a space – you can make a donation if you wish. We hope to at least cover expenses for our guests.
Tea, coffee and snacks will be available for cash during the event.
Please note, we’ve been advised that the centre’s lifts are out of order this weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Doors will open at 1pm with the following schedule:
1.20pm Keynote Speech – Author Julia Williams
Julia is a best selling author and editor who has worked in the publishing industry for over thirty years. Her current project is a teen fantasy about dragons, and as the mother of four daughters, she’s passionate about raising women’s voices and encouraging girls to be the best they can be.
1.50pm Empower: Adelle Martin and Fiona Shoults of Stronger Together Through Cancer.
Co-founders of STTC, Adelle and Fiona embody the ethos and objectives of the charity. Stronger Together Through Cancer CIC is a dedicated, safe centre in Kent and Medway for micro business owners seeking help on how to navigate support, advice and guidance along with easy access to personal and professional services so they can continue to run their business whilst managing the impact of cancer.
2.30pm Performance – The Brompton and Invicta Military Wives Choir.
The local branch of the much loved Mililtary Wives choir, who bring women in the military community together for singing and support, will perform for us to bring the launch to a close.
All are welcome, we look forward to seeing you.
