Rochester Literature Festival

In partnership with Sittingbourne’s Steam Railway, Ideas Test is seeking a dynamic and engaging writer to become their Writer in Residence for a year-long commission celebrating the rich history and vibrant present of this beloved heritage railway.

This exciting opportunity coincides with significant milestones: the 200th anniversary of the railway’s broader history and the 120th anniversary of steam trains at the Kemsley paper mill.

They are looking for a writer who can capture the unique spirit of the railway and its community, bringing its stories to life for a diverse audience. Any kind of writer can apply, including novelists, poets, songwriters etc.
