Medway Women’s History Month Opening Day

Our opening day was legendary, even if we say so ourselves! Ann, Mary and Bev launched us in fine style, while Tamara, Jo, Amanda and Annaig opened eyes to the full scale assault on women.

We couldn’t have had three more different speakers in our first event. The local legend that is Ann West gained a whole new army of fans; Mary galvanised us with five steps to getting unstuck, and Bev was her usual hilarious self with a ‘fringe’ set (you had to be there!). Lynne Parker held it all together with her usual charming way.

Chaired by the wonderful Tamara, Jo, Amanda and Annaig opened many eyes on what was happening in the world under what some (idiot) people call ‘Empowerment’. Of course it isn’t, it’s the same old, same old; women being used for the gratification of men, and in some cases i.e. surrogacy, also for the gratification of women. Buying and selling humans was outlawed …. how many hundreds of years ago? And yet … Watch the whole conversation here. And here are a few pics as a bonus 🙂

But we’re not finished yet – we have two more events on Saturday 28th March. Join us in the morning to celebrate Kent and Medway Women in Business, with Sian Murphy, Deborah Turner, Michele Yianni, Adelle Martin and Grace Kelly.

And in the afternoon, Lissa Evans in Conversation with our very own Georgia Read-Cutting.

We look forward to seeing you 🙂
